Carrettera alla FraLi
Makes 4 Servings
Ingredients
- FraLi Gourmet Gemelli shaped pasta
- 1 bag of fresh or 10oz frozen 8 chopped spinach
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 24oz jar of Carrettera Sauce
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 12 ounces of precooked Italian Sausage cut into one inch pieces
- pinch of hot red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (for pasta water)
- 1/4 cup grated parmigiana cheese
Directions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Heat Oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium high.
Add spinach, onion and garlic to cook for 4 minutes until soft.
Add sausage and brown on all sides for about 4 minutes.
Stir in Carrettierra Sauce and cook for another 5 minutes.
Stir in hot pepper flakes. - Toss pasta with sausage mixture sauce; divide among 4 plates.
Top servings with 1 tablespoon of cheese.
Optional: Add a teaspoon of Roasted Pepper Salsa.
Roasted Pepper Salsa Uses
- Spread on bread.
- Condiment on your favorite sandwich or wrap.
- Add to sauces or soup stocks.
- Make a Roasted Pepper Cream Sauce:
Add 1 cup of heavy cream or Greek Yogurt to two tablespoons of Roasted Pepper Salsa. (Makes 2 servings, add more Roasted Pepper Salsa for more flavor) - Make a Roasted Pepper Salsa Sauce:
Add either water reserved from the pasta or vegetable stock. - Make dipping salsa:
Add sour cream. - Sautee vegetables with Roasted Pepper Salsa.
- Cook with it to give seasoning to poultry or fish:
Spread Roasted Pepper Salsa and bake. - Add to your omelets or scrambled eggs.
- Spice up your Meatloaf by adding Roasted Pepper Salsa and bake.
- Use as topping for your baked potato.
- Enjoy it as a salad dressing.
- Spread it on your favorite pizza.
